Conocimientos y actitudes sobre cuidados paliativos en internos de enfermería de una Universidad Privada de Lima Norte 2023

Abstract

Objetivo: Determinar los conocimientos y actitudes sobre cuidados paliativos en internos de enfermería de una universidad privada de Lima norte 2023. Materiales y métodos: La investigación tuvo un enfoque cuantitativo, asumiéndose el diseño co-relacional/transversal. Se contó con 138 internos como muestra. Se aplicó como técnica a la encuesta y dos cuestionarios uno para conocimientos y otro para actitudes sobre cuidados paliativos. Resultados: No se encontró relación significativa entre las variables conocimientos y actitudes sobre cuidados paliativos en internos (p<0,05). Según las hipótesis específicas, se halló relación significativa entre conocimientos y su dimensión generalidades de los cuidados paliativos (p<0,05), también hubo relación significativa entre conocimientos y su dimensión control de síntomas (p<0,05). En conocimientos sobre sobre cuidados paliativos prevaleció el valor medio con 60% y en actitudes sobre cuidados paliativos prevaleció el valor favorable con 73%. Conclusiones: No se encontró relación significativa entre las variables principales conocimientos y actitudes sobre cuidados paliativos, por lo cual se llegó a la conclusión de que si un estudiante tiene mejor conocimiento no necesariamente tendrá una mejor actitud.

Objective: Determine the knowledge and attitudes about palliative care in nursing interns at a private university in Lima norte 2023. Materials and methods: The research had a quantitative approach, assuming a descriptive/cross-sectional design. There were 138 inmates as a sample. The survey and two questionnaires were applied as a technique, one for knowledge and the other for attitudes about palliative care. Results: No significant relationship was found between the variables knowledge and attitudes about palliative care in inmates (p<0.05). According to the specific hypotheses, a significant relationship was found between knowledge and its general dimension of palliative care (p<0.05), there was also a significant relationship between knowledge and its symptom control dimension (p<0.05). In knowledge about palliative care, the average value prevailed with 60% and in attitudes about palliative care, the favorable value prevailed with 73%. Conclusions: No significant relationship was found between the main variables, knowledge and attitudes about palliative care, which leads to the conclusion that if a student has better knowledge he will not necessarily have a better attitude.
