Conocimiento y actitud hacia la vacuna sobre el virus del Papiloma Humano en usuarios de un Consultorio Privado, Lima 2025

Abstract

El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento y la actitud hacia la vacuna contra el virus del papiloma humano (VPH) en usuarias de un consultorio privado de Lima durante el año 2025. La investigación se desarrolló bajo un enfoque cuantitativo, diseño no experimental, nivel correlacional y corte transversal. La población estuvo conformada por 105 usuarias y la muestra por 83 participantes, seleccionadas mediante muestreo no probabilístico por conveniencia. La técnica empleada fue la encuesta, aplicándose dos instrumentos previamente validados: un cuestionario de conocimiento (KR-20 = 0,831) y un cuestionario de actitud tipo Likert (Alfa de Cronbach = 0,828). Para el análisis de datos se utilizó el coeficiente Rho de Spearman, previa verificación de la distribución no normal de las variables. Los resultados evidenciaron que no existe relación estadísticamente significativa entre el nivel de conocimiento y la actitud hacia la vacuna contra el VPH (Rho = 0,088; p = 0,429). En cuanto al nivel de conocimiento, predominó el nivel medio (47,0%), mientras que el 49,4% presentó actitud favorable y el 33,7% mostró indiferencia. Solo la dimensión “signos y síntomas del VPH” presentó asociación significativa con la actitud vacunal (Rho = 0,273; p = 0,012). Se concluye que el conocimiento general sobre el VPH no constituye un predictor directo de la actitud hacia la vacunación; sin embargo, el reconocimiento de manifestaciones clínicas sí influye positivamente en la disposición vacunal.

The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes toward the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine among users of a private medical office in Lima during 2025. The research followed a quantitative approach with a non-experimental design, correlational level, and cross-sectional framework. The population consisted of 105 users, and the sample included 83 participants selected through non-probability convenience sampling.Data were collected using a survey technique with two previously validated instruments: a knowledge questionnaire (KR-20 = 0.831) and a Likert-type attitude questionnaire (Cronbach’s alpha = 0.828). Statistical analysis was performed using Spearman’s Rho coefficient after verifying the non-normal distribution of the variables.The results showed no statistically significant relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes toward the HPV vaccine (Rho = 0.088; p = 0.429). Regarding knowledge levels, the majority of participants presented a moderate level (47.0%), while 49.4% demonstrated a favorable attitude and 33.7% showed indifference. Among the knowledge dimensions, only the “HPV signs and symptoms” dimension showed a statistically significant association with vaccination attitude (Rho = 0.273; p = 0.012). It is concluded that general knowledge about HPV does not directly predict a favorable vaccination attitude; however, recognizing clinical manifestations positively influences vaccination willingness.
