Nivel de conocimiento y medidas preventivas sobre infección respiratoria aguda en madres de niños menores de 5 años de un Asentamiento Humano, Comas - 2024

Abstract

Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento y las medidas preventivas sobre la infección respiratoria aguda en madres que residen en el asentamiento humano “Santísima Cruz De Mayo”, Comas – 2024. Materiales y métodos: Estudio de enfoque cuantitativo y diseño correlacional de corte transversal. La población estuvo integrada por 160 madres, mientras que la muestra estuvo conformada por 103 madres. No obstante, se realizó la encuesta a 120 madres, de muestreo no probabilístico por conveniencia. La técnica utilizada fue la encuesta y se emplearon dos instrumentos validados sobre nivel de conocimiento y medidas preventivas referente a las infecciones respiratorias agudas. Resultados: En los hallazgos se evidenció asociación significativa entre el nivel de conocimiento y las medidas preventivas (p valor = 0,005). Además, se evidenció relación significativa entre el nivel de conocimiento y los datos sociodemográficas (edad) con p valor = 0,003, mientras que la relación significativa entre las medidas preventivas y los datos sociodemográficos (nivel de educativo) con p valor = 0,000. Se encontró que el 78% de las madres encuestadas presentan un nivel de conocimiento alto y 22% tienen un nivel medio. Se evidenció que el 93% presentan medidas preventivas adecuadas y el 7% medidas inadecuadas. Conclusiones: Se encontró asociación significativa entre el nivel de conocimiento y las medidas preventivas sobre la infección respiratoria aguda en madres que residen en un asentamiento humano de Comas.

Objective: Determine the relationship between knowledge and preventive measures on acute respiratory infection in mothers residing in the “Santísima Cruz De Mayo” Human Settlement in Comas – 2024. Materials and methods: Study with quantitative approach and cross-sectional correlational design. The population was made up of 160 mothers, while the sample was made up of 103 mothers. However, the survey was carried out on 120 mothers, using non-probabilistic sampling for convenience. The technique used was the survey and two validated instruments were used on the level of knowledge and preventive measures regarding acute respiratory infections. Results: The findings showed a significant association between the level of knowledge and preventive measures (p value = 0.005). In addition, a significant relationship was evident between the level of knowledge and sociodemographic data (age) with p value = 0.003, while a significant relationship between preventive measures and sociodemographic data (educational level) with p value = 0.000. It was found that 78% of the mothers surveyed have a high level of knowledge and 22% have a medium level. In this sense, it is evident that 93% have adequate preventive measures and 7% have inadequate measures. Conclusions: A significant association was found between the level of knowledge and preventive measures on acute respiratory infection in mothers residing in a human settlement in Comas.
